The "BIO OW" model is a reconstruction of an authentic 1950s Levi's 1st jacket, capturing the exact sizing balance it had when new in stores, but eliminating distortions caused by shrinkage after washing.
While faithfully retaining iconic details such as action pleats, a left chest flap pocket, and a cinch back, it is designed with a three-dimensional feel that naturally conforms to the modern physique.
Using organic cotton from Taisho Spinning, blended with Suvin fallen cotton, this material meets the most stringent international organic certifications and replicates vintage slub yarn.
Kaihara rope-dyes the yarn with pure indigo, reproducing the color of 1950s-60s Levi's. We deliberately aimed for a medium shade, not too dark, which is easily recognizable from a real vintage perspective. Furthermore, for the weft yarn, we've used slub-dyed yarn, inspired by the sun-faded beige of the Bing Crosby jacket owned by Mr. Kobayashi of AUBERGE.
