【Textile】 This 84-count high-density plain weave fabric is made from 100% hemp, experimentally produced by a linen-specializing weaving mill. It uses yarn that is close to the limit of what can currently be woven in Japan.
While even finer yarns were used in some French vintage textiles, it is said that the reason they cannot be produced in Japan is due to differences in weaving machine speed and humidity.
What is noteworthy about this particular fabric, created as part of an effort to push boundaries, is that it uses hemp that is less prone to prickliness.
Furthermore, the fabric has undergone bio-processing to achieve a texture that suggests it is 100 years old. Linen's appeal increases with use.
