The fabric is a "oni gabardine," commonly known as "oni-gaba."
By deliberately strong-twisting worsted yarn, almost like woolen yarn, with a coarse count of 2/36, and making it extremely high-density in a 2/2 weave, as the name "oni" (demon) suggests, it creates a fabric with a unique spongy feel and resilience, yet beautiful drape.
The comfort is exceptional, thanks to the pattern tailored to the Japanese physique and the carefully selected fabric.
The original brass buttons, which age beautifully, and the lining visible when the sleeves are rolled up, are also highlights.
