Norwegian Rain & T-MICHAEL TOKYO
We spent three years researching a building that would match the rich history of this area. Finally, the moment designer T/MICHAEL stepped inside, they found a building that made them want to create their own unique worldview. This building, which had been a glass wholesaler since the early Showa period, is one of the few wooden houses that miraculously escaped the devastation of World War II.
The overwhelming interior design with a high ceiling that you feel the moment you enter, the space that makes use of Norwegian-designed furniture from the 50s and 60s and the atmosphere of an old house, is a mix of Norwegian and Japanese culture, making it a one-of-a-kind store where you can enjoy shopping while experiencing NORWAY MEETS JAPAN. On the second floor, a tatami-floored bar invites customers to relax as if they were at home while looking out at the dry landscape garden.

Norwegian interior meets Japanese architecture.
The interior concept is Norway meets Japan. This building, which has been a glass wholesaler since the early Showa period, is one of the few wooden houses that miraculously escaped the devastation of World War II. The overwhelming open-ceiling interior design that is felt the moment you enter, and the space that makes use of the atmosphere of an old Japanese-style house with Norwegian-designed furniture from the 1950s and 1960s create a new worldview that you have never seen before. The highly original items displayed there give off an even more powerful energy.

THE BAR
A hidden bar tucked away at the back of the second floor, facing a seasonal miniature garden adorned with carefully curated plants.
Open quietly on select days, the space reflects the store’s interior concept of “Norway meets Japan.”
With the gentle sound of water flowing from the garden and the calming presence of tatami flooring, it offers a serene and welcoming atmosphere that allows guests to truly unwind.
